My K-Drama List (2025) - Part 2

I can't move on from the brilliance of Dr Baek Kang-hyuk from Trauma Code. I must have watched him in 'Trauma Code' hundred times that I didn't bother watching other K-dramas. Dr Baek is me (minus the fiery temper) if I had been born a male with all my field surgeon dream fulfilled. I don't even think of 공유 as much as 주지훈. Check out how our children might look like... awww... tres mignon!

5. Connection 커넥션 (ongoing) - Another police drama, drug trafficking storyline featuring Devil Judge's Ji Sung and Trauma Code's anesthesiologist Jeong Jae-Kwang. Reviews praised this drama. Hmmm, will see if it's true.

6. Yumi's Cells 유미의 세포들 - As I ate my pre-dawn meal during this Ramadan, I changed from watching 'Cold Case' to 'Yumi's Cells' out of curiosity. I don't watch love storylines on K-drama but this series included animations (which was included in a YouTube video in appreciation of 'Devil Judge'). The light-hearted comedy about a 30+ year-old office worker Kim Yu-mi interspersed with animation cells representing different emotions like love, curiosity, rationality, good and naughty etc. is...errr... not bad.

7. Yumi's Cells 2 유미의 세포들 - Cos' I am invested in Yumi's love adventure. The animation has grown on me too.  This drama might be a little slow-paced (good for me as I am able to learn Korean words and phrases) but the twists sent my heart racing. I was rooting for Yoo Ba-bi. But game programmer Gu Woong (now CEO of his own game company) is regaining his charm. How frustrating that those two eligible guys (who love Yumi) are still 'waiting' for Yumi at the end of Season 2. I read that there will be a third season where Yumi (now an author) will finally meet her husband... and he's not those two guys! Arrghhhhh... This K-drama resonated with me as the theme of fate or 운명 or takdir is one that I believe in too.

8. Hyper Knife 하이퍼나이프 (ongoing) - The aftermath of Trauma Code and my medical school dream failure made me watch this drama. Just like how Ju Ji Hoon played a lawyer and then a doctor, Park Eun-Bin is doing the same. Initially I thought that the master neurosurgeon was the actor in 'Beyond Evil' and 'The Auditors'. Alas, I think Sul Kyung-Gu looks like a senior Shin Ha-Kyun. Both were award winning actors!

9. Revelations 계시록 - Cos my favourite character in Reply 1988, Ryu Jun-Yeol acted in this film. Yes, last year, there were some issues between him, his ex Hyeri and his new gf (now ex) Han So Hee. Drama, drama, drama. This film gives an interesting look at religion (fervent), grief and crime.
