My K-Drama List (2025) - Part 1

So, it's now 2025. So fast. I'll be embarking on some major travels/projects this year. Let's see where destiny takes me...

1. Mouse 마우스 -- I was curious as it is about psychopath, murders, police drama, this series doesn't disappoint! I'm halfway through but I couldn't concentrate as I was working on a new book. Will find time to finish watching this series. OK, I finished all 20 episodes. The twist in the storylines are genius and I like the DNA (nature vs nurture) arc, redemption and fragility of human characters. After watching K-dramas, I don't even bother watching Hollywood and Singaporean dramas. They pale in comparison to the strong storytelling in K-dramas.

2. Single's Inferno 4 솔로지옥 - I remember how pleasantly surprised I was at this dating show. It's not cringey but quite enjoyable. I was rooting for Theo and Si-An but alas... Si-An picked Jun-Seo the former Special Forces sergeant who's also an artist.

3. Unmasked 트리거 (ongoing) - Cos of the talented Kim Hye-Soo! She is a producer at Trigger, an investigative TV programme that investigates cases that the police and prosecutors are unable to solve. Again, South Korea K-drama is not afraid to highlight corporate negligence, malpractice and crimes based on real-life stories.

4. The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call 중증외상센터 - After Hospital Playlist, I avoided medical-related dramas as it reminded me of my failed medical school dreams. But as I liked Ju Ji Hoon in Jirisan, Hyena and Light Shop, I decided to give this series a shot. It was faced-paced, interesting storylines, and good characters development. The altruistic message of saving lives despite "trauma centre operating at a deficit" shines through. I remember my own stint on humanitarian missions in conflict areas, my volunteer stint at St Luke's Hospital, and driving in jeeps and even driving my own jeep across the country. The series made me rethink of medical school (yes, again at this mature age). I always believe in lifelong learning and I have always enjoyed studying. But the system will not allow someone 'not-young' to pursue an expensive ambition. I wished that I had advice and support for my medical school journey, like how some parents are to their children now. It pains me to know of underserving doctors who are in the profession for the money to be made, just like some doctors in The Trauma Code. Although I have accepted that it is not 운명 for me to be a field doctor (like Dr Baek Kang-hyuk or Malak in the K-drama), deep inside I faintly believe that God might just grant my parents' doa for my dreams someday... Well, nothing is impossible for God. 
I remember my other dream is to build a free hospital, aptly to be named after my grandparents--Fatimah Jofrie Hospital. I wished that Haji Yusoff, my great-grandfather had built a hospital like Tan Tock Seng. I wish that I am blessed with lots of money so that I can use them for my charitable work. I wish that my husband is very wealthy so that I can use his money towards goodness like building a hospital, and giving scholarships to needy students, unlike some wives who indulged in Hermes bags or a USD27 million, 22-carat pink diamond. Alas I am but a poor, single woman whose noble dreams are as big as the distant stars.
